Mission Statement The objective of the World Rehabilitation Organization (WRO) is to guarantee the human dignity of the challenged. We feel it its imperative that, on the upcoming 21st Century, all the worldĄŻs people live together, caring for each other. In support of main objective, the WRO has a wide range of functions, including the following: To act as the directing and coordinating authority on international the challenged work; To promote rehabilitation technology; To assist Governments, upon request, in strengthening rehabilitation policies; To furnish appropriate technical assistance and, in emergencies, necessary aid, upon the request or acceptance of Governments; To stimulate and advance work on the overcoming of handicaps and the prevention and control of any possible risk; To promote, in co-operation with other specialized agencies where necessary, the welfare policies for the challenged, rehabilitation technology and economic or working conditions; To promote improved standards of teaching and training in rehabilitation and related professional works; To foster activities in the field of rehabilitation, especially those activities affecting rehabilitation technology; To supervise the paralympics effectively. WRO also proposes conventions, agreements, regulations and makes recommendations about international nomenclature of rehabilitation. It develops, establishes and promotes international standards concerning rehabilitation. |
