Why is the WRO introduced to the UN? The rights of the physically and mentally challenged are guaranteed only by cooperation and coordination of human rights among the whole world’s nations. All human beings are born free and equal in dignity and rights. But the physically and mentally challenged are in pain even now. The number of them reaches tens of millions in the world but many of them don’t be given the chance of becoming independent. Also socially biased views and cruelties have stolen their freedom and rights. Therefore, the change of our consciousness and our care of them need them not to be out of favor and to solidify their footing. The possibilities of handicaps due to the development of materialcivilization these days are higher than the past. After all it is necessary for us to develop rehabilitation technology. As a result, we can prevent the possible risk for humans to face in our daily life and help the challenged overcome the handicaps. To do that, the honest and continuous welfare policy and the development of rehabilitation technology should be supported in the worldwide movement. As World Rehabilitation Organization (WRO) is introduced to the UN, the understanding about handicaps and the participation of the world’ people will be extended. Also the WRO will make an effort for the development of rehabilitation technology in a spirit of brotherhood. The WRO hopes all the people to be happy, caring for the physica lly and mentally challenged in the following 21century.
